Yoshiyuki Tomino's Comments about 'Hathaway's Flash'

Yoshiyuki Tomino's Comments about 'Hathaway's Flash' was released on the official site.

I'm very happy and am surprised that the novel I wrote about 30 years ago will be filmed and it will be consist of trilogy as well.

I heard that the participators of the film production said the theme of this novel is necessary for today, so I checked the novel anew, and was shocked again.

Actual World may have not advanced, or rather, degenerated. Owing to the path led by Gundam fans, I could find it is significant to impose the theme on present age. In that sense, I am very grateful for everyone have led this series.

At the same time, I imagine that each and everyone of us may wish the next generation to develop the hopeful answer of this novel's message.

That is to say, I imagine that grown Gundam generation have realized that only Gundam fan's power is not enough to break a sense of stagnation and  degeneracy, so they place their hope on this film to hand over.

I think it is not necessary that animations are realistic, but once it is published in a public place as a movie, I believe that it may touch young public's heart at least.

If the generation to produce gets young and the audience who enjoy it becomes even younger, I believe that the next young generation will someday open up the way to human innovation - New Type.
